The NSM must be placed in the North Sector of the house/apartment/office.
The most important benefit in placing a mountain in the North sector of the house, apartment or office is to allow the Yin chi to go out from one's home or office through the mountain - this will create a space in the home/office for good chi to flow in, thus allow good chi to flow in all directions in the house/apartment/office.
